The Chamber in Hergé country

Report on the drinks evening held on 22 August 2015 in Louvain-La-Neuve

On Saturday 22 August 2015, members of the Belgian Chamber of Translators and Interpreters were invited to meet at the Popote Belge in Louvain-la-Neuve at noon to sample together, as is traditional, an excellent meal and share in some good times. Unfortunately, because the Popote Belge had to back out at the last minute, the decidedly very particular diners found themselves at the all new Hergé museum discovering or rediscovering this Belgian cultural monument. Following a fascinating tour and a surprising encounter with Captain Haddock, our little troupe invaded the museum’s restaurant for a quick bite before heading to the Breton Crêperie to sample, what else? A fine little beer. All in all, a very typical day in the land of Hergé, Tintin and Milou … but without a drop of rain and under a radiant sun!
